Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get in touch with Economic Planning Services?

The easiest way to reach us is through the contact form on our website. Simply fill in your details along with a brief outline of the work you need, and we'll respond promptly. We aim to acknowledge all enquiries within one working day.

How do I request a piece of work?

To request work, please submit your enquiry via the contact form. When outlining your request, include as much detail as possible about your project — for example, the site location, development type, scale, planning stage, and the specific assessment or service you require. Once we've reviewed your enquiry, we'll prepare and send you a proposal quote within 72 hours.

What does the proposal include?

Each proposal sets out the scope of work, deliverables, methodology, fee, payment terms, and an accurate project timeline based on the specifics of your development. This gives you a clear picture of what to expect before any work begins.

Do you work remotely?

Yes — Economic Planning Services operates on a fully remote basis. All correspondence, document sharing, and project delivery are handled digitally, which allows us to work efficiently with clients across the UK and beyond without the overheads of on-site presence. Where a site visit is genuinely necessary for the assessment, this can be arranged and scoped into the proposal.

How long does a project take to complete?

Project timelines depend on the type, scale, and complexity of the work. As general guidance:
• An Affordable Housing Viability Assessment can typically be completed within two weeks.
• A Socio-Economic Environmental Impact Assessment can typically be completed within four weeks.
These are indicative timeframes. Once you provide the full details of your development, we'll confirm an accurate timeline in the proposal.

What information do you need from me to get started?

To prepare an accurate proposal and begin work efficiently, we usually need: the site address or location, a site plan or red-line boundary, the proposed development schedule (e.g. unit numbers, mix, floorspace), the current planning stage, any existing reports or supporting documents, and the deadline you're working towards. If you're unsure what to provide, just share what you have and we'll guide you from there.

What types of projects do you work on?

We support clients across a range of socio-economic and planning-related work, including Socio-Economic Impact Assessments (SEIA), Affordable Housing Viability Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, economic multiplier modelling, and policy documentation. If you're unsure whether your project fits our expertise, please get in touch and we'll let you know.

Who will I be working with?

You'll work directly with our consultancy team — no layers of account managers or intermediaries. This means quicker turnaround, clearer communication, and a consistent point of contact throughout your project.

How is payment handled?

Payment terms are confirmed within the proposal. Typically, we operate on a structured invoicing arrangement tied to project milestones. Full payment details, including bank transfer instructions, are provided in our formal documentation.

Can you work to tight deadlines?

Where possible, yes. If your project has a fixed planning deadline or submission date, please flag this in your initial enquiry. We'll do our best to accommodate accelerated timelines and will be upfront in the proposal if a deadline isn't feasible.

What happens after the work is delivered?

We provide a final deliverable in a format suitable for submission (typically PDF, with editable versions available on request). We also include a reasonable allowance for post-delivery clarifications or minor amendments — for example, if a planning officer raises follow-up queries on the report.
